With the responsibility of hosting the Kerala State Awards for Excellence in Architecture 2014, the Indian Institute of Architects, Calicut Chapter reached out to Cogwheel Studios towards enabling them to redefine and uplift the existing format of the award ceremony being followed and also to simultaneously lay a strong foundation for their very own “Architectural Exchange” platform that could also serve as a platform for architects worldwide to step in, connect, nurture and experience various nuances of architecture in coming years. With this understanding, we proposed and designed an event proposition that uplifted the overall value proposition of the State Awards and laid a strong stepping stone for a strategic “brand” to conceive more of such niche integrated experiences that can seamlessly connect with the architects worldwide.

Brand Identity System


Coming up with a strategic nomenclature as "Crossroads" to address the event, the brand identity system was built around the fine nuance such as typography, color, and imagery that embraced the visual recall of roadways. This strong inference system was conceived in order to establish breakthrough visibility in the event promotion and marketing areas, which was the key concern of the project.

Visual communication design


With the creation of a strong strategic visual identity system, the following interaction collaterals further embraced the conceived values in order to pitch in seamless brand experience for the target end users.

Industrial Design


We further stepped up to design and build the award mementos to ensure no stone is left unturned in creating an integrated brand experience system.

Environment Design


In order to amplify the established brand identity and visual communication factors, the event environment was further meticulously understood, to design and build a suitable on ground brand communication system that scaled across print and digital mediums.

Impact


The holistic human-centric brand experience design was well received by the target audience and established new opportunity areas for many more such initiatives. Also, with the proposed innovative and breakthrough marketing and brand communication strategy, the whole event pitched a better sense of confidence within the organizing committee to handle much bigger challenges.
