With the opening of their new state of the art 3,00,000 sqft engineering block on their 23-acre campus, the governing council of the academic institute consulted Cogwheel Studios with an objective to amplify the overall visual aesthetics of the interior space and to develop suitable area signage systems. Upon meticulously understanding of the project demand, we further helped the project stakeholders in understanding the importance of a strategic wayfinding intervention prior to developing the creatives, that can enable a user to travel from a given point A to point B in minimal time and assistance.
The followed systematic approach enabled the project to resolve many unnoticed problematic areas from the project stakeholders and provided them with a holistic solution to embrace the state of the art facility that otherwise would have demanded more resources in building solutions as they stumbled upon problems in near future time.

Strategic design directions
Upon meticulously understanding the nature of the built environment and identifying the repetitive patterns in the architectural design we proposed to code a particular floor with a uniform shade of color in order to enable the user to clearly distinguish his orientation within the multi-story architectural pattern of the building.
Information design
While laying a strong foundation with design strategy, we further intervened to address the cognitive ability of the user to perceive information and other associated concerns such as the need of relevant information, legibility, and it's overall visibility at a given space.
An intuitive key navigation map was created to be strategically placed at various locations of the built-up environment.
Overall, while addressing both the need for environmental graphics and signage system, with an effective wayfinding navigation system, the facility was transformed to meet the stakeholder's interest and also aid the user to travel from a given Point A to Point B with minimum assistance and time.
